Back Muscles...

The back is now getting more focus.  The main muscle defintion is there but the finer, more defined areas must still be implimented.

So far...

More work has been done refining the model and the main bulk of the work is done.  There is only some small bits of work to be done to the mesh before its is complete.
I am begining to feel that I have limited myself too much with the polygon count.  Therefore I am going to also do a more smooth, higier polygon version to talk about in my evaluation.

Serratus Muscles Continued...

The seratus muscels are now done and I am able to make minor adjustments and continue.

Serratus Muscles...

As can be seen above, the mesh has been partially worked into using the cut tool to create edges to bring out the serratus muscles.  This proces will be repeated to create the rest.

Editing...

The abdominals have been edited to look more curved and smooth.  This is all geared towards making the mesh look more true and realistic to life.

Smoothing...

Smoothing groups have been added in order to create a more realistic and visually effective model.

Research...

Using all of these images I have conducted more work within my sketchbook and I am now able to continue the modelling process.  These images will still be used at all stages of the modelling of the stomach for reference.

Stomach Definition...

Using a refernce image of Arnold Schwarzenegger I have began adding more detail to the abdominal muscles.  Althought they need more work they are definately taking shape.

Abdominals...

A basic abdominal structure has been created and can now be further tweaked.  The mesh was simply cut into whilst taking care not to create any triangles.  Then the abs were then pulled out and shaped.  I must add more definition.

Torso sketches...

This sketch is to help get a better understanding of the back muscle structure.

This image is focusing mostly on the arm structure and how they flow from the shoulders.

Finally, the abdomen has been sketched to help get more of an understanding of how the abdominals are structured.

So Far...

The arms have now been complete in a basic form.  The model is not complete in terms of its basic mesh.  Now detail must be added to areas.

The back has been shaped a bit more to help show more shoulder definition.  I know need to move on to the torso, but first ketches must be completed.

Forearm Modelling...

The arm is now complete as hands are not going to be part of the finished mesh.  I worked a natural wwist into the polygon structure to acompidate the topology of the Brachioradialis muscle.  I am happy with the result.

Forearm Sketching...

I have drawn some more forearm sketches and it has helped with my understanding of the Brachioradialis muscle and I can now go back and attempt to finish the basic arm structure.

Modelling the Arm...

The bicep and tricep has basically been implimented and i am happy with how they look at this early stage.  The forarm however is much more difficult. The Brachioradialis has a natural twist and this is becoming an issue when modelling.  Some more sketches need doing in order to grasp a further understanding before continuing.

Tricep Topoolgy Sketches...

The above image is a large drawing of the tricep muscles and how they are positioned on the arm.

This is a simple sketch to get a grasp on how the topology will flow on the mesh.  This has given me a clearer understanding of what I am to create.  I now feel confident going back into 3DS Max to continue the modelling process.

More Sketches...

This sketch was to help gain more of an understanding of the muscle structure of a tricep.  It is clear that more sketches are needed before implimenting this within the model itself.

I have now made a much more muscular sketch of a tricep.  This was using a reference images and after completing it is clear that the triceps positioning is off centre and must be corrected.

This is a more complete sketch showing a clearer level of definition and poroportion.  I think i must now look at a few final sketches to explore topology.

Arm sketches...

This is a quick sketch to help me get to grips with the way the shoulder leads to the bicep and tricep.

I have now sketched some more muscle structure in the form of a tricep and bicep and then the forarm below.

The sketch above is my attempt to understand how the muscles look through the skin on a toned arm.  The tricep is still very defined, in almost a horse shoe shape.

Current Progress...

Below is a front, back and side of the model at its cureent state...

Back Work...

The back has now been worked into to create more fluent ploygon flow.  I have also taken consideration into topology when editing this model.

Neck Develoment...

I have worked into the neck as it was previously blocky and the muscle structure needed adding.
The flow from the pecs the shoulders are more accurate in relation to true muscle structure.  Now this has been implimented, the back need more working into.

Refined...

I have refined my previous mesh taking into consideration all of the sketches and research I have done.

The pectorlas are now more defined and I have worked into the polygon flow to make the model more efficient and clean.

Modelling Resumes...

More work has now been done on the model itself and tge colour has also been changed to more of a flesh tone.  Work on shaping the Pectorals has been the main addition at the moment...

More Drawings...

After going back to the model I have noticed that I need some further help via drawing as the previous drawings were not muscular enough.

Below are some drawings I have done in order to gain a greater understanding of more muscular people as well as the definition and positioning of the lats.

Anatomy Book...

Below is an image of the anatomy book I have purchased.  It has so far proved extremely useful.

Sketch Time...

I have done a few sketched from both a front and a side profile to help understand the anatomy of the upper body more fully.

The front image is below:
Below is the side image:

I am now able to move on and do more modelling...

New Book...

I have obtained a book on anatomy and completed a few sketches to help aid my models overall topology.  These sketches will be uploaded soon, but in the meantime I am able to adapt and edit my model.

Basic Mesh, Complete...

The more robust chest has now been crafted and the general shape is starting to take shape.
The shape was furthered using photographic references of Arnold Schwarzenegger.  It is now time to research some books on bodybuilding and anatomy in order to progress with adding further detail.  In cinjunction with this, topology must also be researched.
